Born from the heart of Sri Lanka’s gem capital, Ratnapura, Gemcey was founded with a powerful vision to bring authentic, high-quality gems directly from the mines to the hands of gem lovers around the world, at fair and competitive prices.

The idea was sparked by three experienced gem dealers who had spent decades building trust within the gem trade. Their deep knowledge of the Sri Lankan gem industry, combined with the passion of a tech-savvy partner, laid the foundation for what would become Gemcey.

Together, they shared a common dream: to bridge the gap between miners and buyers, simplifying the supply chain, ensuring transparency, and most importantly, offering real value to both sellers and customers.

Over the past year, this vision has taken shape. With more than 100 successful transactions, we’ve proudly connected clients across the globe with genuine Sri Lankan gems, while ensuring every miner, trader, and buyer in the process is treated with fairness and respect.
